Robot vacuums and mops are increasingly adept, passing our tests of cleaning and tackling different types of floors. Look for models that allow you to choose from a variety of modes, and use their charging dock to self-empty, and clean up the stairs.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is among the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos available. It uses lidar for navigation, creating maps of floors and rooms.
When I tried the S1, it was able to map our downstairs, which has laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, as well as carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was able to drive close to walls without colliding with them, and even managed to traverse thresholds that were raised in the room without problem, although it sometimes struggled to get down the stairs in one move. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and lifted itself when it came to carpets or rug.
Before each mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and refills the water tank with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however this will vary based on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires regular maintenance to keep it working well. For this, you'll need to wash the water tank that is dirty regularly to prevent it from clogging. Also, you'll need to clean your swivel wheel and sensors regularly to avoid them becoming blocked by dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, especially when compared to other combinations that require more care.

3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop were released earlier in the year. However, their latest flagship model has even more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-free maintenance, making it a clear contender for our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and a larger side brush ensure an effective, customized cleaning is accomplished.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. K10 Plus is the quietest robot vacuum we've ever tested. It also has an innovative mapping system that allows it to reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums cannot.
